| Ecopetrol is the largest Oil and Gas company in Colombia. The company is required to improve the supply efficiency of up to 20K lb/hr of saturated steam at 150 PSI and 360°F for its 400 BHP boilers used in an asphalt plant. The solution consists of a real-time monitoring system (Patent pending) for steam traps that does not require batteries, built for class 1 division 2 IP67 environments. Using machine learning, the system accurately estimates the amount of vapor lost using the Masonelian formula (approved as a UNFCC method). In addition, it monitors the temperature, pressure, CO2 emitted and not emitted. As a result, Ecopetrol will be able to do predictive maintenance. We project to avoid the loss of $3.3 M and 3.4 K tons of CO2e per year SPEAKER: David Lagarejo |
