Michael Ahern has over 30 years of experience in leading development, engineering, construction, operation, and management of industrial and energy systems. This includes operational oversight of businesses in the industrial and energy fields, with a specific focus on district systems over the last fifteen years. At Ever-Green, he leads the development and advancement of mission-based campus and community energy and utility systems that achieve clients’ strategic goals. Ahern holds a BS in Business Finance from the University of Notre Dame, with an International Business Minor.

Keith Bate P.Eng. MCIBSE, is the Director of Engineering for Creative Energy. Keith has over 20 years experience in low carbon design strategies for district energy and building systems. Prior to joining Creative Energy, Keith worked at international engineering consultancies Stantec, AECOM and Ramboll. Keith holds a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Durham University in the UK, and, in addition to his Professional Engineer designation with EGBC, is a Chartered Engineer with Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) in the UK.

Reshape Strategies

Sonja Wilson is a Principal with Reshape Strategies, a Vancouver-based consulting firm that specializes in low-carbon energy system development and low-carbon energy transition strategies. Sonja is a Professional Mechanical Engineer with a Master’s in Resource Management and Environmental Studies, and over thirteen years of experience in the field of district energy (DE). Her DE experience ranges from planning and feasibility studies through to detailed design and construction projects. Sonja’s practice at Reshape includes the development of regional/city-wide DE plans as well as supporting DE project implementation from the feasibility study phase into internal business case development, ownership/business strategies and commercial agreement negotiation.
