Bart is a Principal and Project Manager as well as a Senior Electrical Engineer. He is the princial in charge of the national data center practice and leads the North Carolina office’s Mission Critical group of engineers and commissioning engineers. Bart has extensive data center and district energy experience for both design and commissioning. His clients cover the financial, healthcare, internet, telecom, colocation, and private enterprise markets totaling over 1000MW+ of critical power. His experience ranges from traditional low-density solutions to cutting edge highly redundant solutions, each tailored specifically to meet the needs and budget of the client. Bart is an Uptime Institute certified Accredited Tier Designer for data center resiliency. His expertise is with the planning, design, and testing of complex electrical and communication systems for large, complex, or power intensive facilities and campuses.
Matt Koukl

As a Principal and Project Manager with AEI, Matt actively leads and manages teams on a wide range of projects that support the Mission Critical market. Matt brings over a decade of experience providing planning and design leadership for various types of data center facilities including modular, high performance computing with cabinet power densities greater than 500kW, and several hundred thousand square feet of enterprise and colocation facilities. These facilities total over 500 MW of power and several have concurrently maintainable power and cooling infrastructure.

Paul Zmick currently leads the 120 FTE Energy and Utilities team for the University of Virginia in Charlottesville Virginia. Central utilities are provided for over 19 million square feet of facilities, including the University Medical Center. The Energy and Utilities team is responsible for energy procurement, generation, distribution, and operation, maintenance, and renewal of the utility infrastructure, with a strategic focus on safety, sustainability, and stewardship. Utilities provided include steam, heating water, cooling water, domestic water, sanitary, storm, 13kV power, and on-site renewables.
Paul currently serves on the Board of Directors for the International District Energy Association and has been an active member in the organization for many years. Prior to UVA, Paul worked for DuPont and Koch Industries for a combined 22-years across five manufacturing sites in various engineering and leadership roles. While at DuPont, Paul was listed as inventor on two US Patents. Paul graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, and the University of Virginia with a Master of Systems Engineering; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia.

Suresh Jambunathan has developed, designed-commissioned and helped finance several Energy-Water and process projects. His expertise includes process design, project management and project financing across Food, Beverage & Agricultural processing and petrochemical plants. He is the owner/principal of Energy and Water Development LLC (“EnWaDev”) which offers an A-B-C solution to customers.
A. Consulting: Energy & Water systems plus process design
B. Development (technical, legal/contractual, environmental etc…) including project finance.
C. Operations & Maintenance of Energy & Water assets
He earned his BE (Petrochemical Engineering) in 1994 from the Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT-P), India and MS (Food Science) in 1997 from the Pennsylvania State University, PA, USA.

Jim is a professor and Interim Department Head of Architectural Engineering at Penn State. Jim is also the director of the DOE's mid-west Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnership. Jim specializes in Combined Heat and Power, District Energy, and Building Mechanical Systems.
Jacob Seiler

Penn State University
Jacob is an architectural engineering PhD recent graduate with a focus in energy dispatch optimization and combined heat power, particularly in controlled environment agriculture applications. He also has considerable experience in campus-wide sustainability initiatives including carbon neutrality and plastic reduction.

Tom is the director of Policy Research at the Pace University Land Use Center for Sustainability. Tom is also a Senior Advisor US DOE’s New York /New Jersey Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnership.
