New Approaches to Solids Removal and Filtration - A Modular Approach for Variable Flow Rates

Epiphene's founder approached new filtration solutions for water-based cooling systems leveraging over a decade of experience working in the everchanging and poor air quality of the Middle East. Filtration solutions to date offered discrete flow rates with the inability to flex to meet changing conditions. The project demonstrated that combining multiple stacked tanks using glass media could be used in high solids loading conditions without overwhelming the filters and providing a high level of filtration and reliability. The project established simultaneous filtration and backwash worked well and variable speed drives could in the future be leveraged to adjust energy use and respective flow based on air quality or system flow rates.
