Energy Efficiency Study of the Cogeneration Plant

The George Washington University commissioned a Cogeneration System Study, together with Radix, with the goal of identifying energy efficiency gaps and improvement opportunities for its power plant. The plant was modeled and simulated using engineering software to provide estimations of operating costs, best-operating conditions, and process parameter optimization. By simulating over 2500 scenarios and considering different cost curves, several recommendations were made that, once implemented,  should provide around 27% savings in operational costs.
